Men's Interclub Team Matches

Regular Season Matches Locally - 2-3 Rounds of Playoffs - State Championship

April 22-23, 2025

CHAMPIONSGATE, FL - Starting the year, 213 teams across the state were competing to get to this point, and only 12 prevailed. Their hard work / great play earned them a spot in the 2025 Men's Interclub State Championship on the Internationl Course at ChampionsGate GC. The course was in excellent shape, and the weather was perfect, so we couldn't have asked for much more to cap off the season.

Leading the way after Round 1, were the two teams from the Northeastern part of the state, as The Palencia Club & Marsh Landing CC both came in with 203 points. Shane Sheltra of The Palencia club lead the way with 38 points, and Gross / Net score of 70 (-2) on the day.

Lurking not to far behind on the leaderboard were the teams of Tiger Point G&CC (200 pts), Orange Tree GC (195 pts), PGA GC (189 pts), & TPC Tampa Bay (189 pts). With plenty of points still up for grabs on Wednesday, the state title was very much in grasp for a handful of teams, which lead to an exciting finish down the stretch.

For the better part of the morning, the leaderboard kept shuffling around, as players continued to enter scores out on the course. Make a huge leap up the leaderboard early on was the team of Quail West G&CC. Through 7 holes, the moved up 6 spots, and were just a few points outside the lead. Holding on by a narrow margin was The Palencia Club, as a majority of the team was able to put together a strong opening nine holes.

Coming down the stretch it was truly anyone's Championship to win. With two holes to play, the teams from Tiger Point, Orange Tree, The Palencia Club, and Marsh Landing all found themselves within three shots of one another. The live leaderboard was changing by the minute, making it an exhilarating end to the season, leaving everyone at their host clubs on pins & needles as they watched at home.

In the end the team from Marsh Landing CC came out on top, with a team total of 401 points over the two rounds. Falling just two points short was the team from Orange Tree, who totaled 399 points, and rounding out the top three was Tiger Point G&CC with 397 points. Congrats to Marsh Landing CC for bringing some hardware back to the Jacksonville area!
